I am about 5 weeks late for my depo shot, and have not had a "period" yet, but did have 2 days of spotting about 2 weeks ago. I read somewhere that a rise in estrogen is what causes the cervix to soften. My cervix has been very soft and open for about 3 1/2 weeks. I have started having a sticky yellow discharge (not heavy). I don't think it is yeast, or any other kind of infection. I have been pregnant 3 times, and don't really feel like that could be it. What I was wondering is could the softening of the cervix, and discharge be from a hormonal change that my body is adjusting to? I was about 3 weeks late for my last shot, but I have been having colostrum in my breasts, and the nurse says it is "just hormones", so my husband and I decided it was best to stop the depo. Can anyone help? Thanks to all, and I send positive thoughts to all.
